Nintendo Direct 11/12/15:
Predictions and Hopes

NINTENDO DIRECT CONFIRMED HERE’S WHAT WE THINK WILL HAPPEN AND WHAT WE WANT!
OOOOOOOOHHHHHHH BBAAAAAABBBBYYYY (a triple), IIIIISSSSS YOOOOUUUUURRR BOOOOODDDDDYYYYY RREEEEEEEAAAAADDDDYYYYY!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Guarantees:
Smash DLC
Bran: We are gunna try and keep this fairly brief, because the Smash news that we are likely to get is something that me and Harry could likely write an entire article about on its own. The Smash Ballot ended just over a month ago, and we haven’t heard anything about it since then. It’s definitely way too soon to actually get a ballot character, but I do think we will get some sort of info regarding which character(s) they have chosen from the fan suggestions. Of course, Sakurai & Co have probably working on other, non-ballot fighters for the entirety of the summer, so even if the fan characters aren’t ready, we think we will still get some characters. Me and Harry are in agreement that those characters could be Wolf and Inkling, but it’s all speculation, and there is nothing really backing up this claim. Other things like stages, balancing, and Mii Costumes are of course, a given, to go along with this presumed update.
Twilight Princess HD
Harry: Honestly, I think this one’s a shoe-in. It’s all but confirmed at this point and it’d be a really easy title for Nintendo to release in between their bigger titles to tide fans over. While it’s been a very long time since I last played TP, I remember it being a decent Zelda game and, if the Wind Waker HD remake is anything to go by (it totally is), this is probably going to be pretty great.
Predictions:
Star Fox Zero
Harry: As one of Nintendo’s biggest upcoming games, I would be incredibly surprised if we didn’t see any Star Fox Zero in Thursday’s Direct. Perhaps we’ll see whatever changes were made to the game (and caused it to be delayed to 2016)? Perhaps we’ll see another long video of Miyamoto talking about the shrine near where he grew up? The possibilities are truly endless.
Federation Force
Bran: As much as I really don’t want to see this game, we haven’t seen it since E3, and with 2016 around the corner, the possibility of seeing this…. thing, is pretty likely. Hopefully the game looks better now than when we first saw it at E3.
Mario Maker Updates
Bran: We finally got our first update for Super Mario Maker around a week ago and it was excellent. Getting a highly requested feature like Checkpoints, as well as a couple of other random things was a great move. I think it’s a bit soon for them to detail another update, but I think at the very least they will acknowledge the game, and promise more updates for the future.
Splatoon DLC
Harry: Considering how much of a hit Splatoon was, I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility for the game to receive bigger, paid DLC packs in the future. Splatoon’s stream of free DLC has been getting slower, restricted to primarily just weapons at this point. I think that any further maps/modes would be released as paid DLC. Also, maybe we’ll see the playable Octoling that people were able to find in the game’s code?
Club Nintendo Successor
Harry: I’m fairly confident that we’ll be seeing this in Thursday’s Direct. It was recently shown off at Nintendo’s Investors Meeting and I’m expecting that we’ll get a more elaborate explanation about how it works and when it's coming. I’m especially interested to hear more about being able to “earn points by playing games,” as I’m hoping this means we’ll be getting a trophy/achievement system on Nintendo consoles (and with actual rewards, to boot!).
Zelda Wii U
Bran: I don't think we will get a ton of info on this game, but it's been almost a year since the last time we saw this game. Fans are quickly losing interest in this title, and it's in Nintendo's best interest to finally show this game off. Even if there is no gameplay shown, simply acknowledging the game and giving the fans a status update on the development of the game (as well as maybe a title), would restore a lot of faith in the game.

Wants:
Mario Kart DLC
Bran: The Mario Kart DLC has thus far been some of the highest quality DLC that I have ever seen, and I’d LOVE to see a 3rd pack get announced. The idea of them bringing in non-Mario characters and worlds is phenomenal, and there is so much more they could do with it. If they were to add another pack, adding Captain Falcon at this point is a must, seeing as he already has two stages and a vehicle. Personally, I think it’d be so cool if they added in Kirby, and brought back some of the race tracks from Kirby Air Ride, but retooled to fit Mario Kart 8. Air Ride is criminally underrated, and to see them bring back some of its courses in Mario Kart would seriously be a dream come true.
Pikmin 4
Bran: As many know, I’m a huge fan of the Pikmin series, and I would love to see the fourth installment get officially revealed. We know that the game is “almost done” according to Miyamoto, but it seems odd that we haven’t seen it in any capacity as of yet. Perhaps it is actually being developed as an NX game? If it doesn’t get shown here, it almost certainly won’t end up being a Wii U game.
Rhythm Heaven: The Best Plus
Bran: The new RH game for 3DS was announced almost a year ago in a Japanese Nintendo direct. I adored Fever on Wii, and I’ve been anxiously waiting for them to announce that the game will come to the West. Judging by the sales that the series has gotten over here, I can’t say I’m very optimistic, but if we did get it, it’d easily become my most anticipated 3DS game.
Retro’s New Game
Harry: As of right now, I don’t think it’d be much of a stretch to say that Retro is one of the best developers owned by Nintendo. They have a fantastic track record, consisting of both the Metroid Prime and DKC Returns series, and I’m incredibly excited to learn about their newest project. Will it be a new Metroid Prime? Will we see the return of King K. Rool in DKC? Or will it be an entirely new IP? Only time can tell and I’m really hoping that time is now.
Mother 3
Bran: This will be on literally every Direct List until we f***ing get it
Harry: He’s not kidding. Every. Single. One of them. Please, Reggie. Please.
