With the Pokemon World Championships kicking off in Boston today, the opening ceremony held a big announcement. In Spring 2016, Pokken Tournament, which was previously only announced for a Japanese, arcade release would be heading to the Wii U in all terretories. The Pokemon Company showed off footage at the event, and even held a suprise invitational tournament with several big fighting game players and commentators. Lastly, we found that the game would be coming with a new character, being Pikachu Libre. From what we have seen, it's moveset is totally different from regular Pikachu, so it's not just a costume. We don't know how if the game will launch with any other characters outside of what is in the arcade version + Pikachu Libre
