Over the past couple days, a ton of news about Pokken Tournament has been revealed. The biggest piece of news is that the game finally has a release date, being March 18th, much sooner than most people expected. Additionally, local multiplayer was detailed. When two people play on the same Wii U, one person plays on the TV, and one on the Gamepad. When this happens, the game is reduced to 30fps. However to compensate, the game will include a LAN option to connect two Wii Us.
Additionally, several characters were revealed. Mewtwo (regular, not Shadow), Braixen, Chandelure, and Garchomp will all be joining the fray. There is currently no footage of these characters, although some screenshots were released. In addition to these 4 new characters, 4 support characters were also revealed, being Croagunk, Pachirisu, Magikarp, and Sylveon. With the release date so near, the number of additional, unrevealed characters is likely small.
